Starting a new meting is easier than you think. It starts with the time and a place. Churches, non-profit organizations, and 12-step meeting houses often have a schedule you can check for available time slots. Call the front office, send an email through the website, or ask around for who you talk to about getting on the schedule.

Once you have a time and a place, you need a format and some structure. CMA has very useful resources for this. Go to their Downloads page and start with the “Starting a Meeting” PDF. Then check out the various formats. The format determines the basic structure of your meeting, and what kind of content and participation members can expect.
